Each surgery has a combination of appointments. The majority of appointments are available to book in advance. A certain number of appointments are for urgent problems and will be made available on the day of the appointment.
We would also ask that if you have more than one problem to discuss with a Doctor you ask for a double appointment.
Please ask if you would like a chaperone during a consultation or examination
If you are late for your appointment, the doctor or nurse may ask you to rearrange your appointment or to wait until the end of the surgery.
The surgery is closed once a month on a Thursday afternoon for staff training. For details regarding dates please go to our opening times section. For urgent problems during this time, please phone the surgery number as usual and your call will be taken by a group of nurses and doctors providing emergency cover
If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.
A telephone consultation with a doctor or nurse can be arranged after morning surgery.
Please phone before 10.30 am on the day you wish to speak to a doctor or nurse.
They will the phone you back after their morning surgery.
